Heping Island Park

Heping island park is located in Taiwan Keelung Zhongzheng District. The aboriginal Basay people on the island called the island "Tuman".

After the 17th century, the Han Chinese were called " Da Ji Liao Yu" or " Da Ji Cang Shan "

February28 Incident, the renamed " Heping Island". As the earliest place where the Westerners in northern Taiwan had their footsteps, it was also one of the earliest places in Keelung to enter the country. 

It was raining and we were exhilarated taking photo in front of Heping Island park. 

The coast of Heping Island is famous for its marine Landscape ( joint tofu rock, columnar basalt, and the "silver-stacked " sea erosion platform). 

these areas were once designated as military control zones and are now open to beachfront parks.

​The coast of Heping Island is affected by strong sea erosion. The terrain of the sea erosion is well developed. There are verrucas and tofu rocks, sea erosion platforms, and sea erosion cliffs. 

​As we can see the Keelung Islet is a small island in Zhongzheng District,Keelung, Taiwan and 4.9 km away from the Port of Keelung.

Nat'l Hwy 1 → Exit at Keelung Interchange → Zhongzheng elevated Rd. → Zhongzheng Rd. → Zhengbin Rd. → He 1st Rd. → Ping 1st Rd. → Heping Island Park 

blow as our way:

1. Tao-yuan to Qidu  by the Tzu Chiang train, 

2. Qidu to Keelung by  the local train,  

3. Keelung to Heping by the bus 101.

Food :

There are small local dishes stores near by Heping Island Park but not many, they do business that might depend on the weather. 

Xin Mountain Dream Lake(新山夢湖)

       Xin Mountain Dream Lake is  located  in Xizhi, New Tapei City. It includes one mountain(Xin Mountain)and one lake(Dream Lake).The lake is easy to reach. It is not big but beautiful because the lake's silver surface reflects the green trees . Many visitors come here to take pictures and relax.​ 

       Behind the lake ,there is a trail leading up to the top of   Xin Mountain.It is steep therefor  sometimes we need to  use ropes climbing to the top.​

       The main attraction of  Xin Mountain hiking trail is that it offers many knife-edged ridges. ​

        The views from the ridge are breath-taking. We can choose a place to sit and enjoy the scenery. 

      

      The trail is a loop that starts and ends at Dream Lake.​

Trail length: 1.9 km    

    

Transportation: 

     Take a train to Xizhi  station.It takes about 30 minutes from  Xizhi  station to the lake by taxi.

Reminder:

    The trail is narrow, steep and full of dirt.You need to wear hiking shoes     and bring a alpenstock,especially after a rainy day.
